However after observing the forms, compositions, colors, one realizes that there are many characteristics in the urban environment of a city. These various elements pave the way in understanding the lifestyle and cultural background of a specific place. Through the Mega Cage series, I have tried to capture the materials that we build around us and focus on their details. In fact visualizing the “beauty in the beast” by being able to photograph colorful rays of light in a Tehran that is known to be grey due to the heavy pollution. The concept of Mega Cage was inspired from my experience of visualizing the megacity of Tehran through some of its fire escapes.
